Global Perspective

In my “Globalization and Marketing” class, I was able to learn about the unique business customs in various countries and then create an export plan to distribute a product in Nigeria, Africa. For this export plan, I worked in a group with four other classmates to explore Iggy’s Doughboy Mix in Nigeria so they could integrate the food product into their market. We researched the country to compile a cultural analysis, economic analysis, market audit and competitive analysis, and a preliminary marketing plan to assess the country’s needs and to make sure this product was not already sold in the country. The extensive research we did showed that Iggy’s Doughboy Mix would be successful in Nigeria given the popularity of their local delicacy, Puff Puffs, and their similarities to our project. This project was enriching because I was able to see how business practices are different in every country and practices will need to be adapted for specific locations. It made me more aware and allowed me to gain a deeper respect for cultural differences that may be prevalent in business. Below I have attached the completed plan.
